2026-2027 Volunteer Requirements

Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, all PCS volunteers will be required to complete a Level 2 background screening through the FDLE Clearinghouse. In order to achieve this, all new Pinellas County Schools volunteers must be Level 2 background screened, and all current volunteers will be transitioned to Level 2 by July 1, 2026. Any volunteer who is not a Level 2 volunteer by July 1, 2026, will become inactive in the system and will not be able to volunteer until completing the steps for background screening. If there are financial hardships that prevent you from paying for fingerprinting, please contact the Office of Strategic Partnerships at 727-588-6405 for assistance. If you are unsure of the steps that you need to take, please see below for clarification. NEW Volunteers (registered after 12/19/2025)

• Visit our website at www.pcsb.org/volunteerregistration and click “I am interested in becoming a new volunteer”
• Fill out the information, providing all required information including an upload of a government-issued ID and your social security number.
• Watch for an email from the Clearinghouse with instructions to fingerprint, including a list of LiveScan fingerprinting vendors. Fingerprint costs range from $75-$90 depending on a vendor. Fingerprints are valid for 5 years.
• Visit a LiveScan vendor for fingerprinting. Your picture will be taken during this appointment.

Current Level 1 Volunteers (registered prior to 12/19/2025)

• Visit http://tinyurl.com/level2information and fill out the information.
• Watch for an email from the Clearinghouse with instructions to fingerprint, including a list of LiveScan fingerprinting vendors. Fingerprint costs range from $75-$90 depending on a vendor. Fingerprints are valid for 5 years.
• Visit a LiveScan vendor for fingerprinting. Your picture will be taken during this appointment.

Current Level 2 Volunteers (registered prior to 12/19/2025)

• Current Level 2 Volunteers are being transitioned from VECHS to the FDLE Clearinghouse gradually. Please find your Level 2 Expiration date on your volunteer account at https://volunteer.pcsb.org/volunteer/ and use the timeline below to determine when you will need to complete your FDLE Clearinghouse fingerprinting.
• Level 2 expires in 2026: Prior to your current Level 2 expiration date or by July 1, 2026, whichever comes first
• Level 2 expires in 2027: By December 31, 2026
• Level 2 expires in 2028: By July 1, 2027
• Level 2 expires in 2029: By December 31, 2027
• Level 2 expires in 2030: By July 1, 2028
